Bedtime is Fun

We just got Chani put to bed not too long ago and about 15 minutes after she's been tucked in I hear her melodious little voice floating down the stairs calling out, "Mommy!  Moooommy! MOMMY!" while increasing in both volume and pitch.

So I dutifully put my Facebook chat on hold to find out what has made my little angel need her mommy so desperately and immediately.  I climb up the stairs and open her door, and she gives me a big grin and says, "Hi Mommy.  Need some Daddy."  Then she turns to the open door and starts shouting, "Daddy! Daaaddy! Comere! Comere Daddy!"

Thanks kid, I love you too.

Please Ignore that I haven't updated in TWO years...

...and listen to what has been going on in my household lately.

Last Saturday Chani was sitting on the couch and asked me to hand her the monkey from the floor.  There was no monkey, so I gave her the stuffed dinosaur and told her, "This is a dinosaur, not a monkey."  She tells me, "No saury.  Monkey! There!" and pointed to the floor where there were clearly no toys.  So I scooped up the invisible monkey and handed it to her where she laid down the couch and pet the air saying, "Good Monkey. Pet pet Monkey."

Later in the night she managed to take the dust container off of the vacuum and when I told her not to play with it and put it back on the vacuum, Chani burst into tears and told me, "Monkey in there!"  I told her she couldn't play with it so the monkey had to get out on his own and went back to making dinner.  A couple of minutes later she stops whining and I look over at her and see her shaking her finger and talking to the vacuum saying, "No Monkey! Naughty Monkey! Out! Out NOW Monkey!"

Now last night, I hear her trying to open the dryer door so I go over to see what she's doing and before I get there I hear her get the door open and her saying, "Fishy, no dryer.  Out dryer Fishy.  Dryer no, no, no Fishy."  Then she shut the door

So my little girl has entered the world of invisible friends and it's great to see where her imagination takes her.  I fully expected that she would have an imaginary friend or two, but I never anticipated a monkey and the fish just kills me.  I'm waiting to see what else gets added to her invisible menagerie.

Also...since it's been two years....here's what that wonderful little girl looks like now.
